The reason I believe African Americans do business with white business owners is because a large percentage of African American business owners do not give you the services that you pay for. You often have to call them back when the job is not done to expectations (even when worked out prior to work being done). The prevailing attitude from African American business owners is that they are doing you a "favor" instead of "being paid for a service". Just do a good job.

You must get on some talk shows or some other type of media form to let parents know that help is available. My eldest son is incarcerated and if I had read your books years ago maybe I would have been able to help him. You are a god sent but I did not get your books from your website. I am an elementary school teacher who has difficulty relating to African American students of today, specifically grades 4 through 8. They have no respect. They do not listen. The school has me doing Art. I am not an art teacher, I have no ideas for grades 4-8. These children look for directions in art and I have none. I look to others for ideas but I get none. So I turn to the internet where I get ideas for grade Pre K -3. These children refuse to kep quiet. They throw crayons across the room. I have to take them away.

the real problem with us as a people is a SLAVE MENTALITTY we still think with the mind of a slave. we cant get this unless we get the masters premission. yet you so-call have a masters degree but what are you the master of? you are a doctor(phd) that heals nothing yet you are the follower of JESUS the CHRIST. but you are hypocrites posing as the children of GOD. because JESUS was a healer who knew how to speak the language of the masses to be able heal the people. not to be in front of no t.v.camera to be praised by caucasian people and men but for the glory and honor of GOD. some say we must work toward getting a education but what kind of education "oh I get it". go to school (that caucasian people built) and learn from them and go to a college (again that caucasian people build and control) so you can get a dregee and brag that you are educated by caucasian people and be a tool for the service of white people in a job they give you like I am. is this the kind of education you refering to because it isnt worth a DAMN in the eyes of your former slave masters and their chilren nor to the suffring masses of black people.

While there are many answers to the many questions, it is important to maintain simplicity. The bottom line is we continue to "ALLOW" ourselves to be mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and in many instances, physically enslaved. We allow it because it has been going on for so long that a majority of us thinks it is normal.

The vast majority of people, principally African descent, have surrendered their thoughts and actions to meaningless non-sense; its a generational dilemma. Their thoughts and action are governed by a pathological system permeated with an extreme, sick illusion of what it means to be "human." Why fight/struggle for civil rights when you dont have human rights? Nonetheless, the majority have been so conditioned and to ask them what does it mean to "KNOW THYSELF," is mind boggling to them.

Since we are all together in this dire human condition, we must learn what it means to KNOW THYSELF, first and foremost. Start with the mantra "I AM A SPIRITUAL BEING HAVING A HUMAN EXPERIENCE." Try it for a while and reap the benefits--increase in consciousness. When we can "inner-stand" that we are spiritual being having a human experience then THYSELF begins to be revealed. The Universe lifts us to an astral plane and prepares us to create heaven on earth which has nothing to do with religion; please, dont confuse the two. Most, if not all, religions open one eye and closes the other.

To become aware of being a spiritual being having a human experience is also the beginning of taking PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY." With knowledge comes power and with power comes responsibility, responsibility request of us that we show the ability to respond to the dire human condition.

How many of us walk with truth as our only banner. How many of us walk with integrity as our only motive. How many of us walk with "self-respect" as our highest virtue? Yes, many talk the talk, but very few actually walk the walk. As a people, having this human experience, we have become complacent, compliant, complicit and cowardice. (DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER.) As long as we play the blame game, we remain stuck in victim-hood and act as volunteers to victimization.

Its really simple. Be True to Thyself, and you will be true to all wo/man. Know Thyself and you will also know all wo/man. Heaven on earth is the heaven within us awaiting to be created. Thus, "Let Thy Will Through All of US BE DONE." We are the GODS with amnesia. We have assisted in creating this fragmented world of duality and illusion. Now it is also our responsibility to change our views about it. And in doing so, we must make way for a higher dimensional experience. Personally, this three dimensional mentality and way of living is worn-out.

To those who have eyes to hear and ears to see: In practical terms, to find oneself awakened at this level has several obvious effects. The notion of personal will disappear and the individual realizes that, in truth, they have "no will but to do the will of the Creator who has sent us forth from power. In addition, they will gain conscious control of the dreamstate meaning that sleep will, from now on, be simply a time for work to continue at another level, in another body."

I have had the pleasure of hearing you on the Mike Baisden show and I am truly entrigued by what you bring forth. I havent had the pleasure of reading your book as of yet, but I will real soon. I am, as Mike Baisden might say, a young old head. I am a 31 y/o Black man in the military. Ive held my own in this Army for the last 12 1/2 yrs. I have got to say Ive experienced a lot of good things, but of course with life and our society, we still deal with the degrading issues of our culture as Americans. In other words, the race card still is trump. Just played in more of a slick approach.

Id like to know if you will be coming to the Columbus, GA area and grace us with your presence and knowledge. I can honestly say, Ive always had the itch to be a part of a movement like this, but just did not know how to scratch it. Maybe I can get some insight from you and just maybe be a part.

Theres so much that we as African Americans need. But we are not concerned with the need, we only care about the want factor. Our understanding has been shaken up. Our values have diminished. I hope that we as a people can uplift one another instead of this constant competition between one another that does not do anything but keep us against one another. "Slave Mentality!" We cant go back to that!!!! No matter what no one says, we are more advanced and we know right from wrong, we know how to get ahead, but wed rather earn the lazy dollar (which amounts to the quick dollar that continues to tear down our communities) instead of working hard and trying reach our goals in a honest way. The white man might have his hands in the pot, but we are the ones preparing the soup. We can control these issue but creating more positive reinforcement. Starting at childhood and continuing through adulthood.

Lets make these change my fam and watch the wave take hold like a tsunami...

The divorce rate is high amongst African Americans because we do not know how to "LOVE". We do love ourselves. others, or our community which leads us living with a heart that is harden. We disrespect ourselves, others and God. We need to ask God for forgiveness and ask him to come into our hearts, so we can know Him who is Love. There is no church, no religion, no movement that can save our marriages, our children, our school or our community, only the love of God integrated into our thoughts, words and deeds. We know how our hearts became harden, wallow not in sin and ask for forgiveness so our hearts may be filled with love to serve others. The problems with todays American youth stem from the lack of parental involvement in the education of the youth. Parents do not teach children to respect others or to respect themselves. The emphasis is on whatever makes ME happy. Try teaching selflessness and respect. Once the child has self respect, they will realize that the behavior most youngsters engage in is not respectful to anyone, but especially themselves.

Parents must also put more importance to an education. How can a black man hope to break through the stereotype that he cant learn if he doesnt TRY to learn? We must change this idea that being smart, and doing well in school isnt a cool thing. Turn it around - make being smart and learning be cool. If you really want to progress, the way is there - you just have to want to get there... and then work for it.

When Malcom X said "By any means necessary" he did not exclude hard work. As long as you sit on your butt and let people tell you youre stupid, and you cant do something, eventually you will be stupid and not do something because you let it be like that. Get up, and change your life.

Brother calm down. We all love you. But calm down. No one group is better than the other. No one is going to hurt you. But the way youre going youre only going to seclude yourself. God did not intend for man to be alone. Lets all not bring one another down. Life is too short. Its all about perspective. Things will change for black people in the African Diaspora. God created us all in the human family. Yes, there are people who have been hurting groups of people do to jealousy. But what these people want from you brother is to take your joy. These people are foot soldiers for Satan. Satan isnt omni present, but God is.

The only time some one can actually be a Sell Out or a so called Uncle Tom is when they dont trully love themselves. They dont have the protection nor the courage like others do. There are people in this world who are quick to kill, still, and destroy others who dont go along with their messages/plans. Why? Because many messengers have been misguided. Why have they been misguided? Its usually do to not knowing what tomorrow is going to bring. We as humans get afraid because we have seen the brutal behavior that has gone on for centuries. There seems to be no way out.

Brother Im going to let you know right now that we must focus on the possibilities and not our enemies.

I dont agree with people saying harsh words back to you either. So, to the other people lashing out calm down. Life is too short.

The world is at an ugly state. There are mean people who do awful things to others everyday. Evil is real. All people have done wrong. Yes, white supremacy exists, but its "our" attitudes and "integrity" that are going to determine how far we decide to make it beyond the boundaries. God has given us choices.

Think for a moment when Josephs brothers sold him into slavery. It was a blessing that Joseph was taught at an early stage what love was and what it meant to obey God. Joseph was taken from the pit to the palace. If Joseph had no love in him and allowed his attitude to prevail then he wouldnt have made it far. God got the victory and glory. Joseph was blessed and highly favored.

God made me so no one can break me. We do more damage to ourselves as humans. We break ourselves down "literally."

Love casteth out fear. We have to remember that any enemy who hates me only hates himself. So, at times we allow our enemies to get the best of us. Thats why we have to avoid giving into our enemies insecurites and fears.

I understand youre a Muslim. Im not here to interigate you nor no one else on this site. You use to be a Christian and thats alright.

I want to ask, if you know of ANY African centered fairy tales. Is there a book that contains such works? I have a 2 year old daughter and we are bombared with white princesses and fairies.

I remember some time back when Asia allowed many of their babies to be adopted by Americans. There were a lot of them to be adopted, and white families did the adopting from what I had seen from watching the news. In America, Ive noticed many white families adopting black children. Though, I have seen black families adopting black children. Black people have had foster children that came from various ethnic backgrounds.

I heard one black person say that black people have foster children only to receive money. I told him people period have adopted children or have brought foster children into their home only for the money.

Remember those shows and movies where "White" people adopted black children? Remember the movies where white folks discovered their children were part black? Remember the movies where black families had children who could pass for white?

Is their a conspiracy behind the way so many black children are being adopted into mostly white families? Now, I know that black people are diversed just like any other group of people. Some black families couldve had white friends at one point and decided to give their children to the white family do to financial constraints.

Black folk need to stay off drugs, stop having babies out of wed lock when they have no support, quit dropping out of school and go to college (a good education is for everybody), stay off of welfare, and be responsible.

I also discussed the issue of cults with some black folks. We talked about how false doctrine is used to justify issues. People are very "harsh" when they feel they are not being listened to. A lot of people want to "fit" in so they can be counted among the "voiceless."

Some people join cults that have the "answer" to particular needs. There are cults that believe in all doctrine so they can get as many followers as possible. These cults create an "imaginary" type of God as well as mascots to symbolize "power."

Fear is really a reason for "cult" activity. People are afraid of being alone and they have to be be with people who speak the "loudest." These cults are "mystical" illusions that only operate through "temporary" means and "fleshly" ways.

I would like to know if other African Americans are experiencing a blatant disregard or lack of respect from the Indian communties who are popping up all over in America. I dont know if it has something to do with there culture or what, but I am convinced they think very little of African Americans while soaking up there money and charging them enourmous prices for goods. I am a native of Wilmington, Delaware and reside here am astounded by the treatment and am wondering if anyone else has noticed.

I dont have all the answers to the questions above, but I think that as a black man, a father, husband, and a Christian I can say God has the answers.

Knowing ones history, spiritual growth, having a good education, having skills, having good health, and wealth can increase positivity in our environments.

I make sure my children know that they are speical and are loved. No one can take away their joy, peace, and love for others unless they allow their minds to become weak to societys system of confusion.

I teach my children about the contributions of Blacks in the history of Christianity, as well as African Diaspora history.

I have learned that if I dont want to be a part of the false statistics that are given to Mass Media about the behaviour of all black folks then I dont have to believe in the illusion of oppression.

Statistics to me, as I feel relate to the questions above, may be accurate in some cases, but often times I find that black people vs. white people and other people has been exaggerated.

Why should I be concerned about keeping up with other groups of people. Yes, reparations is a must. If Jesus took the boys lunch and fed the multitudes it is possible that God can allow black people to have reparations. God will only give us what we can handle. God is a way maker. He is the Alpha and the Omega. He is the Author and the Finisher. He knows every hair on our heads. Hes omni present and shows up on time.

Issues are real. The Black Issue is real. Theres no doubt about it. Institutional Racism is real. Black on Black Crime is real. Child Molestation is real. Bad weather is real. Prostituion is real. Aids and all forms of diseases are real. Drug Trafficing is real. Poor education is real. Lack of job opportunities are real. False Doctrine is real. Cults are real. Pigeon Holding is real. Rape is real. Homosexuality is real. Sex out of wedlock is real. Dirty secrets are real. Pornography is real. Missing Person Reports are real. War is real. Price Gauging is real. Bad advise is real,etc.

I have to protect my wife and babies. I have to be good to my temple. I cant be selfish. The world is a dangerous place. I have to be a responsible steward and disciple. I have to have love for everybody. I dont have to like certain people, but love is much more powerful.

I have to have a balance in my life. Thats knowledge and spirituality. I have to free myself from mans philosophy and egotism. I cant allow distorted history and decietful images to make me feel I dont count.

The NBA or any sport for that matter shouldnt be the only outlet black folks have to be a part of to be accepted by white America. Black folks dont have to be gangsta, funny, and ignorant in movies as well as television to be accepted by white America. The same for music.

If we as black people stop being neutral, confused, emotional, hateful, luke warm, blind, deaf, scared, lazy, perverted, materialistic, and greedy we wouldnt have to keep trying to compare ourselves to no other group of people. If I love myself then I love all people reguardless if they dont like me. In order to be free I have to think outside the box. Thats why I stay away from clicks, gossip, cheating, lying, hating, and fake folk. Ive got better things to do.

One of the reasons we(African Americans) only spend 3% of our income with AA business is that AAB tend to disrespect AA consumers by presenting a poorer quality service at times than when we are dealing with other consumers and/or working for someone else. The 200 point differential on the SAT is because we have not yet decided to do the work that
closes the gap...we can surpass it, we simply havent decided. When we decide to focus on test mastery, we will begin working through the technical difficulties. The divorce rate is 66% amongst us because we dont love as we say we do; we certainly are not demonstrating love for our
children, and last but not least, ourselves.
We can reduce the number of African American males incarcerated by training the one consistent relationship in the lives of most, their mothers. It is very difficult to retain ones freedom when mother agrees that ones thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are appropriate even when witnessing the rate of destruction. The vast majority of AA mothers
raise their daughters and love their sons to distraction and destruction. Misogyny is rampant amongst women with sons. Many are the ONLY woman their sons will have have, as many are not able to let the son detach loosely enough to form relationships with their childrens mothers. This is very sad and immensely crippling to the very concept of family. If we are to ever acquire reparations, we will need to bridge many of our disagreements and focus on what is important to us as a unit. Other than the strong desire of the quote, unquote, powers that be, to withhold reparations for the horrid suffering we have survived, the single greatest hold up is that we have not yet articulated a vey focused, highly technical set of grievances and demands. This, of course will need to be supported by us supporting each other, in particular, the future of our generations, by exercising our right to protest by, for examples: Shutting down the soft drink industry for 3 days...we have to do this together, no excuses; reinventing the value (worth) of the so called black vote...of course, we will need to be very technical and really together for any of this to work...we just havent decided yet. We can decrease the incidence of AIDS in our community by
decreasing the number of peer workers serving in outreach facilities. The most qualified professionals,trained by regionally accredited school and licensed under state laws having demnonstrated commitment to human service are, seldom accessed by agencies serving in high-risk areas. We are not even offering the best support services for AIDS prevention and intervention. Black women should handle the male shortage by modeling to their sons how to behave respectfully toward other womens sons and daughters and teaching that they are to be highly valued and treated respectfully. When black women do this a marked increase in the number of availabe males will occur. To increase the number of men to raise their families, mothers will need to respect their sons need to create primary family units own their own. The tendency of mothers to keep
their sons, and uphold sons in crimes against society, namely, their own women and children, is the primary deterrent to men raising children. If mother agrees, it must be right. Work will necessarily target the willing worker, namely mothers. Just some opinions.

More and more I see the things that wrote about concerning the lynch papers... I attended a church last night, ( kings way baptist church ) and they , The Brothers, are in compplete favor of their white leadrers being in the heads of everything that is going on with congregation... Absolutely no brothers are in control of anything, but throwing out other brothers from their masters mission from a silly rule that was made by the brothers to have reasons for blame... Dont eat in the hallway, dont eat in the chapel... Dont come in here or there for whatever the reason, isnt missionary work suppose to be in subjection to the patrons need??? And then all of them have to save themslves to look like their master, the pastor...

20years ago my father gave me this book as a gift. I was so disturbed and very upset with him . I had just given birth to my son , I was 15yrs old. It wasnt until now with my second child being 9yrs old that I was truly able to appreciate what my Dad was trying to explain to me.

I Know that this saying is old but it is so true in the african American community today I believe "It takes a village to raise a child." Everyone is trying to fend for ourselves in african american community enough of us are not trying to help each other. So were lost feeling as though Know one will help us and that we can not help anyone. I support your message dated Jan. 24th. This is my first time looking at this site and the information contained in it. I must tell you that this is a good vehicle for communicating important messages but we(African Americans) are abusing it by degrading each other. The site also depicts the fact that we as a people have a long ways to go concerning how we write. We should focus our energy on educating ourselves and children. I am however, disappointed to see how our communication skills are lacking to say the least. This book is great! It is aurhored by Darren L Johnson.

I think you can google his name to find the book. The book has helped me to change my way of being and helped me to manage my situation with my mother. I think it can help Blacks to change the way we see ourselves - and thus, the way we see each other. It is a powerful read.

Simon Muhammad you are working and living for an Organization full of hypocrisy. The Nation of Islam is a Nation within a Nation. First of all Jesus wasnt black. The first Christians were in Africa. The first Christian Church was founded in Africa. Yes, there were European Christians, but many of them were using Christianity as a means of selfish gain.

The first Muslims were not Black. In fact, Muslims hated black people. Black people in Africa now rather be Arabian or Middle Eastern than be Black. Just like African-Americans rather be Native American, White, Puerto Rican, Mexican, etc.

It was the Africans who enslaved their own people around the world. We beat down on one another.

No, Black people and the Middle Eastern people are not family as people think. Were from the Human Family yes, but not from the African Diaspora family. In fact, the Middle Eastern people, but not all, who were Muslim raped African women and murdered African men for the hell of it.

Black/African Americans need to build a strong economic base.To do this we need to select five trusted Black Economist to head this Economic Org. We need to ask that donations be submitted to this org. As does the American Red Cross and others we need to have our donations done through payroll deductions and sent directly to the Economic org that will work in our best interest. As do the Jews for Isreal, we can support, enhance our economic base. We need to build special school to specifically train our children who want to succeed. We need to specialize in building technology skillls,math skills and I am not talking about the usual afterschool programs. I am talking about black leaders in the filed of technology,science and math teaching our children theses skills, keeping the program going for as long as necessary unilt the children themselves are ready to enter college and receive the degree in the fileds of math science and technology. We need to get back to the days when children were disciplined and stop using the Foster care system to raise our children. We need to develop our own foster care system to provide care for our children when the parents are strung out on drugs and keep them until we rehab the parents for the children to return to them, then they are not lost to the system, but being raised by the village.
You cannot raise adults, but you can raise children to be better than the adults who failed to raise them properly.
As far as reparation goes, they gave the Indians back the reservation and paid them millions of dollars for the land they stole in the Black Hills Mountains, the repaid the Japanese American for stay in concentration, why not pay for the labor for humdred of million of black who labored and did not get paid. To repay me, I do not want to pay taxes for the remained of my life time and my childrenslife time and I want every other black american to get the same repayment. But to admit that you owe me is the question as well as the delay in granting the reparations. In the village we must continue to teach our children right from wrong, but we must also teach them and show them the consequences of their action.Hopefully, we will have less black males incarcerated. Its not like most of themales in jail dont know why they are there. The music videos have begun to turn many of our young girls into "brewing whores, they way they dress, dance and act in the videos. But to the music industry, sex sells, regardless of the consequences.
As far as doing business with the African American Businesses, I do so every chance I get, but they want to charge 3x as much as the white man, they are, at times, unreliable and not punctual and they have a tendency to "nigger-rig" the job to poor satisfaction.

We can increase the number of men to raise our children by starting with the boys and young men we have in our home. We must teach our children to be the best that they can be and set a good example by being the best we can do. For instance, do you curse in front of your children, do your children see you smoking (I use to smoke and when I did, it was never ever in front of my children, they were teenagers when they realized that I smoked, still I never smoked in their presence), do you teach them to treat others the way they want to be treated, do you allow them to be children and give them the tools to gradually grow up? Do you give them responsibilities according to their age and capabilities, If you dont attend church, do you teach them not to steal, be honest, go to school and learn, do their homework, do you give them homework when what is being sent home is not adequate? Do you allow them to just run around and not express any self control, do you allow them to be out of control when you visit others or do you check on them often when they are allow to play or be alone? This is just a start to increase the number of men to raise their children and a shortage of Black men, by raising the ones who are in our homes NOW! Eventually the shortage will be in our jails and in the cemetary.

I had the awesome opportunity of hearing Dr. Kunjufu speak on many occasions. The reason I say awesome is because the initial experience was breath taking as I was working in a Juvenile placement for boys in Albion, Michigan and he came to the local high school to speak.
