CHRISTIAN RESPONSE TO ATHEIST HISTORIANS AND MUSLIMS
by Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu

1. The Old Testament is filled with African history.

2. Ancient history begins after the flood 4000 B.C., of which one of Noah's sons Ham had four sons Cush (Ethiopia), Mizraim (Egypt), Phut (Libya), and Canaan (Isreal). The curse was placed on Canaan not Ham.

3. The river in the Garden of Eden (Pishon) is the Nile River.

4. The word Egypt and its derivatives are used 750 times in the Old Testament. The word Ethiopia and its derivatives are used 64 times. Greece is only stated 4 times in the Old Testament and Rome is not used at all.

5. The major tenets of Christianity (ie., monotheism, life after death, libation, water as a sign of purification, and moral truths) have their origins in Africa. King Akhenaton advocated the belief in one God in 1379 B.C. The building of the Pyramids, temples, tombs, and mumification, illustrated a belief in the afterlife. The libation, sacrifice, pouring of the blood shows an acknowledgement. At the temple of Karnak, near Thebes, water was used as a form of purification. The Ten Commandments are very similar to the negative confessions.

6. Three of the greatest interpreters of scriptures were St. Augustine, St. Cyrian, and tertullian, all Africans.

7. Africans were introduced to Christianity long before slavery in America as described in Acts8:26-40. (An Ethiopian eunuch was worshipping God reading the book of Isaiah, and baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.)

8.Moses, an Egyptian (Exodus 2:19) (1250 B.C. -1200 B.C.) rescues some Ethiopians including Zipporah who became his wife. He is given the Ten Commandments, in Africa, as other Africans were given the Negative Confessions. There are no European Jews until the 7th Century A.D.

9. King David, Bathsheba, and their son Solomon were Hittites who were Hamatic. Jesus Christ who came to Earth in the flesh possessing "feet like unto fine brass as if burned in a furnace," and with hair "like wool", can be traced through this family linage Joseph and Mary's side.

10. There was slavery perpetuated by Egyptians, Arab Muslims, Israelites, and Roman Christians. Muslims slavery preceded Christian slavery.

11. Prophet Muhammad was born in the 5th Century A.D. How is this the original religion of Africans? He did not die for our sins and did not say he was coming back.

12. Christianity is not a weak, passive religion. Jesus Christ was a liberator as described in Luke 4:18-21 and Isaiah 58. Most of the 265 slave revolts were led by Christian ministers.

13. There are three types of churches--entertainment, containment, and liberation.

14. Many religions and the Old Testament are based on the law--an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. If this continues we'll have a war-torn society with everyone blind and toothless. With the New Testament and Jesus Christ--Grace wins over the law.

15. After all is said and done, it is not about scholarship or history, but a relationship with Jesus, that He is real; He died for our sins; and those that believe will have everlasting life. We conclude with Jesus asking the last question from Matthew 16: 13-15,

16. Who do the people (Atheist historians, Muslims, etc) say I AM? The most important question follows: Who do you say I AM?

For further information read your Bible, and the works of Yosef ben-Jochannan, James Cone, Charles Copher, Cheihk Anta Diop, Cain Felder, Malana Karenga, Arthur Koestler, Walter McCray, William McKissio, and Chancellor Williams for starters...
