Mission Statement

African American Images Mission Statement

African American Images and African American Images Talent Center were created to empower the community.  We provide tutoring at a reduced rate and no child is denied for financial reasons.  We mentor children and provide rites of passage free.  We produce curriculum materials for our SETCLAE (Self-Esteem Through Culture Leads to Academic Excellence) program.  This curriculum is used in schools nationwide.  Our consultant, Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu trains teachers and parents.  SETCLAE materials and other products are available in our retail outlet.

            Our building is used as a community resource center.  Activities include tutoring, mentoring, counseling, literacy, writing, computer, martial arts classes, poetry readings, foster parent training, and daycare.  Various organizations use our buildings for meetings.
