Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu

Will be remembered as a renowned writer, educator and publisher that dedicated his career to addressing the ills afflicting black culture throughout the United States. In one of his books, Kunjufu can be quoted as saying, “I have two grown sons and one grandson. I have dedicated my life to the uplift of African American people, particularly the African American Male.”

Author of over 40 books including several national bestsellers, Kunjufu was a guest speaker at most universities throughout the U. S. and was a consultant to most urban school districts.

Dr. Kunjufu once said that we cannot solve non-academic problems with academic solutions. We must change school culture. Earlier this year, Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu passed away.
